At Elegant Estates, our Property Protection Plan (PPP) is a structured system designed to safeguard your home and surrounding property during all exterior washing services.
The scope of protection varies depending on the service being performed. House washing utilizes all six components, while roof washing, paver restoration, and other wash services may implement selected components as needed.
Each step is executed at technician discretion based on site conditions.
The Six Components of the Property Protection Plan
1. Electrical Component Protection
(Implemented on all house wash services)
Before any wash application begins, our technicians perform a thorough exterior inspection of the property.
Where necessary, we cover, tape, or seal exterior electrical components to prevent water and detergent infiltration. These may include:
- Exterior electrical outlets
- Exterior light fixtures
- Telephone and communication boxes
- Electrical meters
- AC disconnect boxes
- Other exposed exterior electrical connections
While exterior electrical systems are designed to resist weather intrusion when properly installed, this added step provides an additional layer of precaution.
Failing to properly shield sensitive electrical components during detergent application can increase the risk of corrosion, shorting, or damage. Our proactive protection measures significantly reduce that risk.
2. Keyholes & Lock Protection
(Implemented on all house wash services)
All visible keyholes, lock cylinders, and exposed door hardware are covered and taped prior to washing.
This prevents detergent and water from entering locking mechanisms, helping to maintain smooth operation and prevent corrosion or internal damage.
3. Protection of Sensitive Exterior Items
(Implemented as needed across services)
Certain exterior items may require temporary protection or relocation during washing. At technician discretion, we may move or cover:
- Outdoor furnishings
- Fabrics or cushions not color-safe
- Stainless steel fixtures
- Decorative metal components
- Grills or sensitive surfaces
- Specialty materials vulnerable to spotting
This step is commonly used during house washing but may also be implemented during roof washing, paver restoration, soft washing, or surface cleaning services when necessary.
4. Detergent Neutralization
(Implemented for house washing and roof washing; used when appropriate for other services)
To ensure maximum protection of surrounding property, we apply a neutralizing agent:
- Prior to washing
- And again following detergent application
This neutralizer renders active cleaning detergents inert after they have completed their cleaning function.
Neutralization protects:
- Landscape plants
- Soil conditions
- Wildlife exposure
- Adjacent hardscape surfaces
- Decks and walkways
This step is especially critical when performing roof washing or heavy biological treatment.
5. Landscape Rinse Procedure
(Performed following applicable wash services)
After wash work and neutralization are completed, we thoroughly rinse all landscape plant material that may have been exposed to overspray or runoff.
Fresh water is used to ensure:
- Removal of any residual detergent
- Safe dilution of runoff
- Preservation of plant health
This reinforces our commitment to protecting landscape investments.
6. Final Rinse & Surface Clearing

(Performed on all wash services)
A complete final rinse is performed to ensure the property is left clean, stable, and residue-free.
This includes:
- Rinsing structural surfaces
- Clearing hardscape areas
- Flushing driveway surfaces
- Removing migrated detergent or surfactant
- Directing runoff safely within the property
This final step prevents staining, residue buildup, and unintended surface reactions prior to rainfall.
Why the Property Protection Plan Matters
Exterior washing is not simply about applying detergent and rinsing it away. Proper chemical handling and risk mitigation are essential.
Our Property Protection Plan ensures:
- Electrical systems remain safeguarded
- Locks remain operational
- Sensitive surfaces remain undamaged
- Landscape plants remain protected
- Detergents are neutralized responsibly
- Your property is left clean and residue-free
This structured protection system is one of the ways Elegant Estates differentiates itself as a specialized exterior service provider.
