About In-House Plumbing Company

Carroll Pearson

Where It All Started

In-House Plumbing Company was founded in 2001 by Carroll Pearson and Shawn Bucklew.

From the beginning, the goal was simple: help people. Plumbing was simply the way they were able to do that.

Carroll and Shawn believed strongly that business should be about helping others and treating people the right way. That philosophy became the foundation of the company.

Tragically, Carroll passed away from a heart attack in June of 2004. He is still greatly missed, but the principles he helped establish continue to shape how the company operates.

Over the years the plumbing industry changed, and so did our company. Early on we handled many types of plumbing work, but one problem kept appearing again and again in older homes — failing cast iron sewer pipes.

Today our entire focus is residential cast iron sewer pipe replacement.

Replacing sewer pipes beneath a home is not routine plumbing. It is a major underground construction project, and it deserves a company that approaches it carefully and responsibly.

Real People, Not Just Another Plumbing Company

When homeowners contact us, they are usually dealing with a serious and expensive problem. Many are stressed or worried about making the wrong decision.

We try to slow things down and explain what is actually happening beneath the home and what the available options are.

Sometimes that means answering a lot of questions. Sometimes it means helping someone understand their situation even if they ultimately choose another contractor.

We regularly receive phone calls and emails from homeowners across the country asking questions about cast iron plumbing systems. Even though we cannot work outside our service area, we still try to help point people in the right direction.

Our goal has always been simple: help homeowners understand their options so they can make the right decision for their home and family.

Our Team

While Shawn remains closely involved in the company, most day-to-day customer interactions are handled by a trusted team.

From the first phone call or text message to the final day of the project, homeowners work with experienced office staff, general manager, and jobsite supervisors who help guide the project from start to finish.

Shawn focuses primarily on the planning, systems, and operations behind the scenes so the company can continue to run smoothly and serve homeowners well.

Building a strong team has always been important. Many of the plumbers responsible for the work, along with the people answering the phone, preparing proposals, coordinating schedules, and supervising projects, have been with the company for many years, creating consistency and helping ensure every homeowner is taken care of.

We Believe in Doing the Right Thing

No company is perfect, and we don’t pretend to be.

Mistakes can happen in any business. When they do, we want to know about it and we want the opportunity to make it right.

At the same time, we believe agreements should work both ways. We work hard to explain exactly what is included in every proposal so homeowners understand the scope of the project before work begins.

If we make a mistake, we will fix it.

If we say something will be done, we stand behind it.

Honesty and accountability are the foundation of our business.

Why Our Work Is So Specialized

Most plumbing companies handle a wide range of services.

We don’t.

Our company focuses exclusively on residential cast iron sewer pipe replacement beneath slab foundations and in the yard.

That specialization allows us to plan projects carefully, work efficiently, and reduce disruption to the home whenever possible.

Cast iron replacement requires excavation, tunneling, plumbing installation, inspections, and restoration. It is complex work, and most homeowners only face it once in their lifetime.

By focusing on this specific type of project, we are able to approach each job with the experience and attention it deserves.

Shawn Bucklew

Shawn Bucklew

Shawn has been involved in plumbing and underground leak detection work for more than 3 decades and has helped thousands of homeowners navigate cast iron sewer replacement projects.

His approach has always been based on straightforward advice and honest communication. When homeowners are facing major sewer problems, the first step is helping them clearly understand what is happening and what their options are.

Daisy

Daisy

Daisy is a rescue dog adopted from City of Wylie Animal Services.

She occasionally appears in company photos and has quickly become a favorite among customers.

Daisy is just a reminder that behind every estimate, every phone call, and every project, there are real people involved — not just another company.

Our Commitment to Homeowners

Replacing cast iron sewer pipes is a major decision for any homeowner.

Our role isn’t just to perform the work. It’s to help people understand the process so they can make the right decision for their situation.

Whether someone hires our company or not, we believe homeowners deserve honest information about their options.
