Foundation Repair Guide

Looking for a Foundation Repair Expert? Let Us Help

Choosing a reputable foundation repair company is important when you're dealing with cracks, sinking, and other common foundation issues. Because foundation movement and plumbing systems both exist beneath the home, the two can sometimes be connected.

At In-House Plumbing Company, we specialize in full residential cast iron sewer pipe replacement beneath homes. Because this work takes place under the slab, foundation conditions can sometimes become part of the conversation when homeowners are evaluating a pipe replacement project or deciding the best order in which work should be completed.

Our owner, Shawn Bucklew, has spent more than 30 years working around foundation repair companies through referrals, contractor relationships, and industry involvement. The video below shares some of that experience and explains what homeowners should understand when evaluating foundation repair companies.

The goal of this video is not to recommend specific companies, but to help homeowners better understand the process so they can make informed decisions when choosing a foundation contractor.

About Shawn

Shawn Bucklew is the owner of In-House Plumbing Company. During his career he worked directly in the plumbing division of a foundation repair company and has spent decades working alongside foundation contractors through referrals and project coordination. Over the years he has worked with more than 25 different foundation companies while operating In-House Plumbing Company.

Shawn was also a member of the National Foundation Repair Association – Dallas Chapter from 2007 to 2020 and served as Vice President of the chapter for several years. During that time he attended industry meetings and training sessions and also taught several sessions focused on plumbing considerations during foundation repair projects.

While In-House Plumbing Company focuses exclusively on cast iron sewer pipe replacement beneath homes, Shawn’s experience working around the foundation repair industry helps him understand how foundation movement and plumbing systems can sometimes interact.

If you are evaluating a cast iron sewer pipe replacement project and have questions about how foundation movement may affect the situation, feel free to contact In-House Plumbing Company to discuss your project.
